Quick Shots: Once Upon a Monster, still adorable
Warner has released new gamescom screenshots for its Kinect title, Once Upon a Monster, in development from Double Fine. The Sesame Street-themed game is slated for release this fall on Xbox 360. Check out the shots in the gallery below, along with a few character renders. A few are not so new, but are still worth another look.

Warner has released a new video, posted below, which shows behind-the-scenes footage of Tim Schafer pitching his idea for Once Upon a Monster to a Sesame Street bigwig. The game is slated for release this fall on Kinect.

Double Fine explains how it came up with Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster
Tim Schafer has said that Double Fine got the idea for Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster thanks to project lead Nathan Martz’s idea for an game with “cute, furry little monsters, making music and having fun.”

Sesame Street says videogames are good for kids

The Joan Ganz Clooney Center from the Sesame Workshop has issued a report called Game Changer, and it states that the government and special interest groups should give gaming a little slack.
Instead, research should be conducted on the positive effect it has on children, because according to the report, games can be educational, physically, and beneficial when used in the classroom.
Sesame Workshop and the Ganz Clooney Center’s purpose is to “foster innovation in children’s learning through digital media”.
