Free DLC goes Live for Frontlines
The Major brings word that a new very, very post-release Frontlines map, Boneyard, is now up on Live and costs you neel pwar. And that’s that.

Frontlines: Fuel of War patch and DLC sooner rather than later
According to the Kaos Studios site, patch 1.1.0 for near-future shooter Frontlines: Fuel of War is “in final testing and will be released shortly”. While a list of fixes isn’t supplied, it’s promised that version 1.2.0, a release that will see inclusion of a new map, one of five of those listed on the site.

THQ confirms 50-player matches for Frontlines
THQ just sent word that Frontlines: Fuel of War “will become the only first person shooter to offer online multiplayer for over 50 players on a next-generation console” when it releases on Friday. The console in question is Xbox 360.
The first map to support 50 player multiplayer will be the Village, which starts off with house-to-house fighting and finished with all the buildings flattened and an OPEN FIELD OF DEATH. Check our capitals.
The 50-player limit had been rumoured before, but this is first confirmation.

Frontlines: Fuel of War to support 50-player games on Xbox 360
Frontlines: Fuel of War, THQ’s upcoming shooter, will featue online support for up to 50 players, developer Kaos Studios confirmed today.
“Frontlines will in fact have some servers set to 50 players on the Xbox,” said on the team, speaking on the company’s forums. “We have been testing for some time now and its on heck of an experience.”
The game, set in a near-future where petrol’s become a scarce commodity, is out on PC and Xbox 360 at the end of this month. It was all looking peachy when we saw it at E3 last year, so there’s every reason to be watching this with a view to buy, especially if you’re a big Live fan.

Metaboli grabs Frontlines, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., CoH and Soulstorm for download service
Metaboli‘s inked a new deal with THQ that will see Frontlines: Fuel of War and Warhammer 40,000 Soulstorm, as well as a range of high profile back catalogue titles such as Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights , S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and Company of Heroes, be made available for sale through its download service.
Soulstorm and Frontlines haven’t shipped yet, and there’s no detail on whether or not these are going to be available through Metaboli at the same time you can buy the discs. Metaboli man’s pretty happy about it, either way.
“This major deal is indicative of the strength that Metaboli has within this market,” said Metaboli’s content boss, Pierre Forest. “We are delighted to partner with THQ and look forward to growing the company’s market penetration through new online distribution channels.”

Frontlines: Fuel of War multiplayer demo on Live now
According to this, a multiplayer demo for THQ’s shooter Frontlines: Fuel of War is now up on Xbox Live, weighing in at 1.11Gb. The Major’s blurb:

Frontlines US promos show how it’s done
Good stuff, this. Developer Kaos Studio’s released details of promotions US gamers can get for buying shooter Frontlines: Fuel of War at various retailers, leading by example in the “offering value” stakes. The extra levels from Gamestop and Bestbuy are for the Xbox 360 version, according to this.

Kaos’s Wiki says that “no specific release date has been announced yet” for the game’s worldwide February release, but Gamespress is listing it as February 29.
