Bionic Commando has arrived on Steam.

The PC version will run you $39.99 and there is also a bundle up for grabs which includes the game plus Bionic Commando: Rearmed for $44.99.

Bionic Commando Rearmed will be getting a patch and Trophies.

According to Capcom Unity, Grin has reworked Easy and Normal difficulties, and fixed a bug with Super Joe Machine Gun and allowing a larger clip and more damage.

The patch will be made available on Xbox Live and PSN soon, with the later getting the addition of Trophies.

Nelson’s confirmed that Bionic Commando Rearmed is a mere 400 MS Points to Gold Live subs this week, a 50 percent reduction.

Which is pretty cool. Certainly better than taking a third off DLC so long and forgotten you’d need a handsome prince to break into its castle and kiss it awake.

Capcom dropped the price of the PS3 version of Bionic Commando Rearmed today, in celebration of the fact its big brother comes out next week.

Running from today to next Thursday, the 2D side-scroller will cost £3.99/€4.99 on PSN instead of the usual £6.99/€9.99.

Amazing. Buy it.

According to this post by producer Ben Judd, Bionic Commando: Rearmed has sold 130,000 copies in a week on sale.

The Capcom remake is available for download on PS3, 360 and PC.

“That may not seem impressive compared to package titles that sell in the millions but compared to other digital titles that is a friggin juggernaut,” said Judd.

“Basically, we have set a standard in digital gaming. The bar has been raised and you have let developers around the world know that if they invest the time, money, and heart into making (and remaking) some great games, you will support that initiative.”

IGN, GamesRadar and Eurogamer got to make their own level for Bionic Commando: Rearmed, as you can see both on the Capcom blog and here, on EG.

The levels are challenge rooms, which are kind of like the VR missions from Metal Gear, but with bigger arms. Take a look.

Capcom’s posted a friendly nudge to make sure you know the PC version of Bionic Commando: Rearmed is available direct from the publisher.

According to this Kotaku post, Capcom and Valve were “unable to reach mutually agreeable terms” over a Steam release, so that explains that.

The Major sends word that Bionic Commando: Rearmed is now up on Live at a cost of 800 MS Points.

Capcom’s action remake got a whopping 9.4/10 from IGN yesterday, so it’s probably worth a sniff.

IGN’s given Bionic Commando: Rearmed 9.4/10, a score that’ll no doubt brighten Capcom’s day. In a nutshell:

Bionic Commando Rearmed sets a new benchmark for downloadable console games. The best elements of the original are back, but have been upgraded to be better than before. The new bosses add a more interesting challenge and the final level is one for the ages. And, of course, the visuals are brilliant. The remastered soundtrack is fantastic as well. From top to bottom, Bionic Commando Rearmed is an incredible game that’s well worth owning.

The Capcom blog’s confirmed that Bionic Commando Rearmed will release in America on August 13 for XBLA (800 points) and August 14 for PSN ($10).

The news comes after the Japanese Xbox site yesterday confirmed the game for an August 13 release.

Destructoid’s reporting that the official Japanese Xbox site’s listing Bionic Commando Rearmed as an August 13 release.

Nothing’s confirmed as yet, but it’s good to know we’re getting close. Sorry, we would write more words, but our fingers are melting. Someone needs to turn the sun off.

We’re not that bothered about missing E3 this year, but we do wish we were going to Comic Con. Capcom’s detailed its showing at the San Diego event, taking place just after E3, and it sounds “fun”. Aside from the enjoyable aspect, the firm’s promising an exclusive Resident Evil 5 trailer, so that’s a good enough reason to not let your guard down after E3.

Posting on the US PlayStation blog, Capcom’s confirmed a number of things about Bionic Commando: Rearmed, including the fact it has DualShock 3 support.

Producer Ben Judd also talks about helicopter pilot Haley, the game’s medal system and the 13-gauge “Hagle Breaker” Assault Shotgun.

The game is finished though, apparently.

“All we can say right now is that the game is done, and is more awesome that pure liquid awesome,” said Capcom through its virtual mouthpiece.

No further date has been issued on the downloadable action remake as yet.

Couple of impressions of the multiplayer side of Bionic Commando: Rearmed just popped up. No online, unfortunately, but it still sounds great. There’s one on Destructoid and one on IGN. Some new shots here too.
