F.E.A.R. 3 reviews round-up: Alma unleashed in the US

Alma and the rest of her dysfunctional family were set loose on the US public today with F.E.A.R. 3. See how her reign of terror goes with the reviews round-up below.

There’s not too many out at the moment, but as more come in, we’ll add ‘em. Do the normal in the comments section below, if you will.

Games’ out June 24 in the UK for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Apparently the campaign can be finished in 4 hours, not even rushting through it. According to a guy on the GT forums..if that’s true…then just…sigh.

4 hours? Sounds like Call Of Duty.

I’m just gonna ignore forum whining when it comes to new games, especially pertaining to length. The Portal 2 nonsense was unbelievable.

I wish they would have kept the real horror feel from the original F.E.A.R. The game just isn’t scary anymore.

I’ve loved most of what they’ve done since the Blood days though.

A lot better than I thought initial reviews would be, I was planning on renting it anyway but at least now I know its worth it…the original FEAR is probably still the best, the second was decent though…

You know what I noticed after watching the video reviews and trailers for this game? Ever since original FEAR, FEAR 2 and FEAR 3 have got extremely dark. I don’t mean dark in tone, but literally dark in lighting. Even the multiplayer levels shown for FEAR 3, all of them are very dark. If you look at the levels (especially the multiplayer) from original FEAR they may have had dark sections, but they were not all this consistently dark. To me this is a turnoff and one of the reasons I didn’t enjoy FEAR2. I think original FEAR multiplayer looked better than this trash.

Expect something in the 5-7 region from Eurogamer and Edge. If the ever impressionable IGN haven’t been ‘pleasantly surprised’, there’s a very real chance that a game that looked like the world’s most unwanted sequel will turn out to be just that.

Pro-tip. The 4 hours comment is probably a lie like it was with Portal 2.

The internet is a learning-free zone.

If someone makes an irate post on a forum, clearly, it must be true.
