Zelda: Breath of the Wild patch unlocks subs and dubs options, so you can play with your choice of 9 languages

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has received a small update unlocking new audio options.

Nintendo hid this news away in a press release detailing Zelda: Breath of the Wild's first DLC pack, but if you grab the patch on Switch (or download the Voice Pack DLC on Wii U), you can choose to play Zelda: Breath of the Wild with whatever combination of subtitles and audio you like.

That means, yes, the original Japanese audio with English dub is available - something we're always pleased to see - but you can also choose from two kinds of French, two kinds of Spanish, Italian and Russian.

Around the time Nintendo revealed the release date it showed a Zelda: Breath of the Wild trailer (the one in which Zelda does a lot of crying), and someone put together a supercut of all the different languages, showing off the differences between available languages. It was pretty cool, but now you can experience it whenever you fancy via the settings menu.
