You'll be able to communicate with your Titan BT-7274 in Titanfall 2's single-player campaign

Details of the single-player campaign in Titanfall 2 have surfaced.

Eurogamer was able to get a look at the game, and said the early level shown to it featured and expansive campaign with "lots of variety."

The variety spans "open-ended arena battles" with various approaches using the move set of the first Titanfall. But it's not all running walls, using jet pack boosts and guns in battle, but these moves are also used in "quieter" environmental puzzles where wall running feels more akin to Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - only in first-person.

In the campaign, players take on the role of a rifleman in the militia named Jack Cooper. He really wants to pilot his own Titan, and his dream comes true when he comes across a BT-7274 through an unfortunate incident. It needs a new power source, and after finding one and installing it, Cooper forms a neuro-link with it, according to the PS Blog which was also present at the demo.

This neuro-link also allows the player to communicate with the Titan through dialogue option. In one instance of the demo, the Titan offers the player with two suggestions on how to move forward when reaching a chasm. Two options in order to proceed were provided to the player in this instance, each with its own success rate provided by the BT: one choice was being tossed across the chasm after climbing into the the Titan's hand.

A skirmish was also demoed and it took place in an enemy-populated outpost. Players can choose whether to enter the outpost stealthily after scouting it, "go balls out" or play a sniper role.

"There are options for how you play it, it's about how comfortable you are with the weapons and the movement," Titanfall 2's producer Drew McCoy told Eurogamer. "Combat-wise there's a lot of freedom."

The single-player portion is said to be on par with other campaigns in shooter games with a heavy focus on multiplayer. McCoy said it was the "longest single-player game" he had ever worked on.

"It lends itself to having a longer session - it's not 10-15 minute set-piece level after set-piece level," he said.

That's great news for those who lamented the fact Titanfall lacked single-player. Be sure to give the video above a watch which provides a rundown of what to expect from this portion of the game.

If you want to know more about the single-player, Respawn Entertainment as added more color to it on the official website.
