You will see JRPGs on Xbox One, Spencer vows

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said Xbox One owners can look forward to more Japanese RPGs on the console in the future.

JRPGs are a bit thin on the ground on both PS4 and Xbox One at the moment, but we expect that to change as the hardware matures. In the meantime, Spancer has said on Twitter that there will be JRPGs on Microsoft's console.

The reason this question is even being asked is that PlayStation has been the traditional home of Japanese games since Sega bowed out of the hardware race, although Microsoft made a spirited bid to change that with the Xbox 360, wooing Japanese publishers and developers time and time again.

This led to a number of great Japanese games turning up on Xbox 360 as exclusives or at least not neglecting the console, which has been great for fans. Unfortunately, the console itself didn't do particularly well in Japan, and the Xbox One is having an even rougher time of it.
