New Yooka-Laylee trailer demonstrates the game's creative, changing level states

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair got a new gameplay trailer today that shows off the game's changing level states.

The trailer, which you can watch below, demonstrates how players can access different versions of the game's levels. By manipulating the environment around a level portal in the overworld – say, opening a floodgate – you might access a flooded version of the level you just played. There are also frozen versions of some levels, and in one example, fixing the air vent that runs under one level gives you access to a windy "updraft" variant.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair takes the game from a 3D to a 2D, Crash Bandicoot-like platformer. It launches on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch later this year.
