Yamauchi replies to GT5 Siena situation

Who knew flags could be so much trouble in 2010?

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has responded to claims from the Italian city of Siena over the mis-use of flags in a GT5 track.

"We can remove them in an instant," Yamauchi said on Twitter.

However, he added: "Erasing them is somewhat regrettable."

Siena had threatened to block the release of GT5 until the flags and the track used in the game, Piazza del Campo, were removed.

The track is normally used in the city for the Palio di Siena horse race, where ten out of 17 riders from each district in the city must ride bareback on horses, dressed in specific colours.

GT5 releases on November 2 in the US and November 3 in Europe.
