Yakuza 5 taxi missions involve comforting drunks

A gentle trickle of Yakuza 5 details continues today with an update on taxi missions. This is almost as baffling and wonderful as Shenmue's forklifts.

As you may recall, bad ass gang leader Kazuma Kiryu has retired to Fukuoka to become a taxi driver; Andriasang has details of how players will pursue this noble calling.

As well as following passenger's directions on speed and safety, players will counsel them on their problems, and even fend off violent thieves.

Plus, there are street races, and you can customise your car. Yakuza 5: officially the best one yet. That said, our hero doesn't look exactly delighted with his new situation, and presumably won't remain in it very long when the PlayStation 3 exclusive hits Japan during the holidays. Let's have a western release Sega, chop chop.
