Yakuza 5 gameplay details emerge, dance battle system baffles

Yakuza 5 reveals have ranged from weird to weirder recently, but now Sega has spilled the ramen on the game's cold-hard gameplay facts.

Famitsu reports that combat is first up for an overhaul, with a brand new AI engine, redesigned locations and enemy animation. You can also be jumped by thugs almost anywhere, which will keep you on your toes, and you can dispatch them with what appears to be an advanced Heat Action called Climax Heat.

Character Haruka also comes with a new - wait for it - 'Dance Battle System', in which she is judged on her moves that cover five genres: hip hop, house, idol, jazz and rock. Dance well against rivals and you can unleash Dance Heat moves.

Sounds nuts, but that's the fun of Yakuza for you.
