Xbox software and services revenue up 36%, gaming revenue up 39% to $643M

Microsoft has released its Q4 and fiscal year 2018 financials, reporting a 39% increase in gaming revenue, mainly from third party title strength.

Gaming revenue increased $643 million, while Xbox software and services revenue increased 36%, mainly from third-party title strength.

Along with the increase in gaming and services revenue, Xbox Live saw an increase in users to 57 million.

The Xbox Live figure is an increase of 8% in monthly active users (MAUs) and includes users on Xbox consoles, mobile, and Windows 10.

During Q4 of fiscal year 2018, XBL users increased 8% to 53 million, compared to year-end 2016 when Xbox Live users totaled 49 million.

Microsoft's More Personal Computing segment, which houses its Xbox business, saw a 17% increase in revenue year-over-year (yoy) to  $10.8 billion

For the quarter, Microsoft reported $30.1 billion in revenue, up 17% yoy from $25.6 billion. Revenue for the company as whole was $110.4 billion, up 14% yoy for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018. Net income came in at $16.6 billion.
