Here's what's actually on the back of the Xbox Series X - report
The back ports on the Xbox Series X appear to be similar to what we have today on current-gen consoles.
After AMD showed what looked to be an official shot of the back of the Xbox Series X console, the company admitted it was a purchased 3D model and is not actually the real thing.
So what ports does the real Xbox Series X actually have on the back? Well, according to a Thurrott report, the answer is not very exciting.
According to people with access to the current unit, the Xbox Series X has seven ports on the back. Two Superspeed USB-A ports, an HDMI port, an Ethernet port, optical audio, and a simple power connection. Thurrott's report is not certain about the final port, which they say could be used for debugging - this is an in-development unit, after all.
Although this particular make-up could change from now until launch, it already proves two interesting facts. First, the power connector is small, which indicates the console will be using an internal power supply.
Having a single HDMI port instead of two is also an indication that VR is not a priority for the Series X. Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer previously said as much, but it's interesting to see these choices manifest in hardware. A future VR headset could still use the existing HDMI port, of course, but having two allows the image to be mirrored on a different screen.
