Xbox One version of Xbox Music will be not free to gold subscribers [Update]

Xbox Music will be not be free to Xbox Live gold subscribers on Xbox One, as previously announced by Microsoft's Albert Penello.

According to Penello, he was mistaken regarding the service, and has since taken to Twitter to clarify the issue.

"I was wrong about Music on Xbox One: You get 15 free song plays then need Music Pass for ad-free streaming. No ad-supported streaming. Sorry," he tweeted.

Earlier today it was thought that ad-supported Xbox Music streaming would be supported on the console for XBL Members, similar to Pandora.

The original story is as follows.

Speaking with a fan on Twitter, Penello had this to say about the Xbox One music service:

It mean that Xbox Live Gold members will be able to use the service free of charge, but like the free edition of services like Spotify you'll have to listen to adverts every so often unless you pay for a premium account.
