Xbox One's latest firmware update is reportedly causing a mysterious black screen issue, but don't worry - your console isn't bricked.

The issue hasn't been widely reported and in a statement sent to Kotaku Microsoft said it's neither common nor serious.

"We are aware of the issue and are working on a resolution," a representative said.

"This does not appear to be widespread, but can be addressed by the player by holding the Xbox One power button on the console for ten seconds to restart."

The February firmware update allows users to better organise their games and apps, and to manage storage space, which ought to make using the Xbox One a little easier.
