Xbox One gets permanent price cut as 1TB model rolled out

The Xbox One has been permanently reduced in price to £299 / $349 as Microsoft rolls out a new £349 / $399 1TB model.

The console had been previously available at £299, but Microsoft insisted these earlier offers were special promotions.

The 1TB model will retail for £349 in the UK and $399 in the US. It's available now in the UK but our US brothers and sisters will have to wait until June 16.

The new controller features a 3.5mm stereo jack, volume and mute controls and tweaked bumpers. You'll be able to buy the controller separately from "late summer" and it comes in matte black or silver and black camo.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for using the Xbox One controller on PC will also be available later this summer.

Buy the 1TB console in "select regions" and you'll get a download code for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
