Xbox Live region switching in web beta

Xbox Live region switching has been a thorn in the side of many gamers who have relocated and have found the process to be laborious and cumbersome. However, a new report suggests that Microsoft is currently testing a new web-based tool that allows users to switch region with ease. We've picked the report clean for information below the fold.

NeoWin has screen-grabbed the beta here, showing an overview of the region switching procedure, along with a list of elements that can and can't move region with you.

As a security precaution, region switching may take up to six weeks and can only occur once every three months, and will see your gamertag, MS Point balance, remaining Xbox Live Gold membership time and earned achievements moved to your new location.

However, you will lose some region-locked data during the switch, such as app-specific subscriptions to services such as Xbox Music and Sky TV. Regardless, NeoWin reports that beta feedback has, so far, been positive.
