Xbox bundles to no longer come with game codes, but use Digital Direct

Microsoft will seemingly replace digital codes included with bundles for a new redemption method called Digital Direct.

A new method of redeeming games included with Xbox system bundles has been launched by Microsoft, and it's called Digital Direct.

Instead of a card containing a code to download the game, DLC, or subscriptions the content will be redeemed through your Microsoft account/ This will directly deliver the content to your Xbox console during first time setup.

During the setup process, content attached to the console will appear to redeem. You will then click the “Claim it” option to claim your items and once claimed, the content will be found under My Games & Apps.

You can also redeem at a later date and all content will be tied to the first Microsoft Account that claims it.

If you head through the link to Digital Direct, you can look over other ways in which to claim content that comes with your Xbox bundle.

According to various reports and this post on reddit, one of the first Xbox bundles to use the new method with be the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X bundle.
