Xbox 360 was needed to "do justice" to Rez, says Mizuguchi

Speaking here, Tetsuya Mizuguchi has said that Xbox 360's specs were needed to bring about the final version of this arty shooter, Rez, with the recent release of Rez HD.

"Being able to display Rez HD in the 16:9 widescreen format... leads to a greater sense of immersion for the player. I really feel that high resolution can cause humans to be stimulated and moved on an emotional level," he said. "The number of players of Rez seems to have gradually increased over the past six years. To be honest, without developing it for a console with the high specifications of the Xbox 360, we couldn’t really have done justice to our aspirations for Rez."

Eurogamer gave Rez HD a 10. We're saying nothing.
