WWE 2K16 DLC breaks campaign mode on PS4 and Xbox One

WWE 2K16 players are advised to avoid downloading the latest DLC, Future Stars Pack.
The latest WWE 2K16 seems to be causing a serious problem: players have reported corruption of save data in Universe Mode, the primary game mode.
2K Games has acknowledged the issue on its forums, saying only PS4 and Xbox One users are affected.
Players on these platforms are advised to avoid the DLC until 2K can fix the issue, but the publisher has not yet pulled the DLC from console storefronts.
If it's too late and you're save's already gone, I'd suggest holding off on playing until 2K has a fix; sometimes your data is recoverable. It's usually not, but cross your fingers.
