Wii U: 'Pro controller created so hardcore gamers wouldn't feel left out' - Nintendo

Wii U's myriad control methods may have been a heated topic for many gamers, but if you don't fancy using the tablet controller, you may like to know that Nintendo hasn't forgotten about you.

Speaking with Gameplanet Wii U hardware producer Katsuya Eguchi explaind that the controller was created to open up multi-format support to third-party developers.

"Adding a Pro controller may make it easier for multi-platform games to come out on the system", Eguchi explained, "Wii remotes don't have things like analog sticks. To make it as easy as possible to enjoy certain multiplayer experiences it was important to have that Pro controller."

Eguchi continued, "We're all gamers as well and we appreciate the interest of those [hardcore] gamers, and we don't want them to feel left out, so we're making big strides and changes in that area."

What about you? Do you think the Wii U has 'hardcore' potential? Will the pro controller change your mind? Let us know below.
