Wii U blowout: Hardware pics, Activision's Hirshberg, domains registered, more

Everything's kicked off in regards to Wii U in the past 24 hours. Pictures of the system have released, Activision's Eric Hirshberg is talking about support for the console, domains for stuff like Wii U Sports have been registered and tech rumours about its chip. It's all go.

Japanese website Inside Games managed to take picture of the system at E3. Alright, Nintendo released official shots of the hardware after its E3 presser despite it being a no show during the conference - only deciding to talk and show the tablet controller - but it was never on display during hands-on with it at the show.

But there you go.

Hirshberg skips out on Call of Duty Wii U

Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg has refused to comment if Call of Duty will come to Wii U in some form after its launch next year.

"Anytime one of the first parties gives us new technology to play with and new toys in the toy box it’s great for our developers. Now, choosing which ones we’re going to use and choosing which ones we’re going to get on board with, it all has to do with what we think is going to make the best game," he merely noted instead to IndustryGamers.

"Trying to make a Call of Duty experience on the Wii, you’ve got to make real sacrifices in the game just based on processing power and some of the other limitations of that console. This one seems like it’s going to be a lot friendlier to the kind of games that we generally make," he added.

So you can chalk CoD for Wii U as likely, then.

Wii U Sports, Wii U Music, more domains registered

Just in case any of you lot had the thought of doing so, Nintendo's registered Wii U Sports, Wii U Music, Wii U Party, Wii U Play and more domains. There's a full list here.

Details on Wii U graphics chip rumoured

Game Watch (via Kotaku) is rumouring that the graphics chip for Wii U will be similar to the R770 that is found from cards dating back to 2009.

It'll also have DX10.1 support and can beam up to at least four standard definition streams of content running from the console.

Wii U will launch next year.
