When does the Destiny beta come back online? Now, apparently

The Destiny beta is back online, although we weren't expecting it till tomorrow.

Bungie had said the Destiny beta would resume on Wednesday, US time, but although it's still several hours short of midnight on the East Coast, you can fire your console up right now and play.

"We know you’ve been waiting, so we busted our asses to finish our chores up early. You can download and play the Beta right now," Bungie wrote.

We've verified this for ourselves on PS4, having installed the client for the PlayStation beta last week. We've been told that Xbox 360 and Xbox One client download codes are being mailed out now, so check your inbox.

If you've already played the beta its worthwhile chekcing in again.

"If you’ve already played, you haven’t seen everything yet. We’ve got some surprises in store, and if you play on Saturday, July 26th beginning at 2pm PDT, we’ve got a permanent reward on reserve that will commemorate the experience," Bungie teased.

The Destiny beta contains a sequence of story missions you can complete solo or with friends, a three-player co-op Strike mission (the equivalent of a raid), a free-roam environment, the social and shopping hub, and several PvP maps.

If you smash through everything and aren't ready to say goodbye, we've prepared this handy list of side activities to pursue. We've also got class breakdowns and a beginner's guide to help you wrap your head around this strange new "shared worlds shooter" genre; you may as well just visit our Destiny guide hub actually.
