What's Your Favorite Pokemon?

COMMUNITY QUESTION | Pokemon Week has come to a close for us, so let's talk about our favorite Pokemon.

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

Whew! Pokemon Week is done. All week long, we celebrated Pokemon's 20th anniversary of coming to North America by writing about our favorite evil teams, why the Pokemon Trading Card Game is important, popular fansite Serebii, and more.

If it was too much to keep up with, we have a handy collection with links to all of Pokemon Week's stories here. And of course for this week's community question, we're asking you what your favorite Pokemon is! You can find some of ours below.

When the USgamer team divided up the Top 25 Pokemon list earlier this week, I threatened to kill anyone who took Arcanine from me. So there's your answer, I guess.

I love everything about Arcanine, but am especially fond of its striking tiger-stripes, its loyal ferocity, and its towering frame. If you're a kid in the Pokemon universe and your family owns an Arcanine, ain't nobody messing with you. Oh, and let's not forget a shout-out to the tiger-dog's flowing mane. It's my greatest wish to re-enact the Aslan-riding scene from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe with an Arcanine in the place of Jesus Allegory Lion. Make it happen, wizards of genetic engineering.

I'm honestly not as big of a Pokemon fan as it might seem if you look at my desk. (I have three Pikachu plushes resting along it, including Pikachu donning a Tokyo Station uniform.) I've only played a few games in the series overall. Still, my favorite Pokemon isn't the kitten that gets lit nor the yellow mouse that I own a lot of toys of: it's Snorlax. I love Snorlax. There's no particular reason why, but it's cuddly and cute and I love how it just sleeps in the road to make your life difficult. As someone who has trouble sleeping, naps are a blessing, so maybe it's a bit of wish fulfillment why I love Snorlax.

My runners-up include Sylveon—the cutest Eeveelution (though Umbreon and Jolteon are tied for second), Chikorita, Arcanine, Charmander, Sandshrew, and Treecko. Honestly, I think most Pokemon only get uglier as they evolve. I'm usually the cruel trainer that interrupts evolving.
