Whatever Paradox makes for the PS4 won't be a cheap port, they say

Paradox Interactive, known best as a studio for PC diehards, if going to make a game for the PlayStation 4. They don't exactly know what it will be yet, but producer Gordon van Dyke told Joystiq at GDC that whatever it ends up being, either a port of an existing game like War of the Roses or something we haven't seen, it won't be "a cheap PC port on console."

"We first need to make sure we can get the game running on the hardware, but the hardware is much more easier to work with than it was previously when I was at DICE on Battlefield, where there were struggles with Sony's hardware – especially the way they allocated memory. They've eliminated a lot of these hurdles [on PS4] and x86 makes it much more plausible that we can do it."

Paradox has provided me with some great times over the years, and I'm sure they will continue to do so. It'll be exciting to watch them expose their work to a new audience.
