What Should You Buy in The Steam Holiday Sale? 2014 Edition - Encore Day 1

We take you through a few of the deals in the last Steam sale of the year.

Valve has launched the Steam Holiday Sale today, running from December 18 to January 2 (at 10 am PST).

Like the Steam Exploration Sale, we're operating in a tiered manner here: there are Featured Deals, which will last for 48 hours from posting and there are Daily Deals, which pop up every 12 hours. As the featured deals change, we'll update the page here. Here's some of the games you should think about picking up for this sale, in descending order of discount. Remember, if this is exactly like the Steam Exploration Sale, there will be no encore day at the end. Pick the games up when they're cheap!

Featured Deals

With the sale winding down, we've entered the encore period of the Steam sale. These final two days have all of the best discounts returning for a repeat performance. The sales should all last 48 hours.

E-Commerce still exists in the far pigeon future.

Daily Deals

The final Daily Deal stragglers bring up the rear.

Time to investigate all these discounts.

Cheap Stocking Stuffers

This last category includes titles that aren't Featured or Daily Deals, but they're really great prices on some titles that probably won't see additional discounts. These discounts are good for the entire sale, so you may be better off waiting.

As we make our final push, there a number of great bundles for people looking to get into certain franchises. Bioshock, Saints Row, and Far Cry franchises are going for cheap!
