What Game Are You Playing This Weekend?

COMMUNITY QUESTION | We're keeping this week's discussion simple.

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

Did anything happen this week? Besides World of Warcraft getting a new expansion? Your regular community question organizer was out of town this week on a big rock in the middle of the sea, so she has no idea.

Oh well. That doesn't mean we can't talk about games! For this week's community question, let us know what's keeping you occupied this fair weekend.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is consuming most of my time, but I also have a few other review titles that might go on the pile. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is right around the corner, as is Guacamelee 2 and The Messenger. Basically, the summer is over and now it's time for games to start ramping up in release cadence. And somewhere in the middle of all of this, PAX West is starting up and the entire USgamer team is going, so that's a good 5 days gone. FIGHT ON!

I just got back from vacation (I'm very tan now, thank you), and my big plane game was Dead Cells. I was surprised to find it to be a solid podcast game, as it kept me company while I caught up with R U Talkin' R.E.M. RE: ME?, a.k.a. the pod-of-the-year.

I have discovered I am not very good at Dead Cells, but I'm sticking with it regardless. I was able to fly through the first few areas and the first major boss pretty easily, but it seems like everything past that point is out to get me now. My favorite death so far was on a run where I decided to mess around a level even after finding one of its exits and a challenge realm, only to die in a spectacularly stupid way: falling into spikes. I lost 40-something cells and some blueprints. It was horrible. Dead Cells is one of those games that I honestly feel like I'll never be able to beat. But who knows, maybe I'll have a really good run of it one day. But that day is not today, and I doubt it will be this weekend either.
