What Are You Playing as February 2020 Rolls to a Quiet Conclusion?

COMMUNITY QUESTION | We want to know what game is getting you through the current release drought.

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

A very slow February 2020 is finally winding to a close. Outside of Dreams, which we reviewed earlier today, very little of note has been released this month. What do you do during such a slow release period? Tackle your backlog, of course!

This week's Community Question tackles the most fundamental question: What are you playing right now? Over here at USgamer, we're mostly going back to our comfort games, including Final Fantasy 14, Apex Legends, and Dragon Quest 11. But what about you? Are you playing a classic game like Super Metroid? Maybe wrapping up a late 2019 release like Disco Elysium? Share what you're playing in the comments!

I'm kind of between games at the moment. In the wake of finally breaking and deleting FIFA, I picked up StarCraft 2 again, mostly because my housemate was randomly playing it (I also finally figured out why my computer was chugging—turn off power save mode, kids!) I've never been especially good at StarCraft, but watching Youtubers and streamers has given me a decent grasp of Terran tactics, and I'm getting more comfortable with tailoring my strategy on the fly. When I'm not playing StarCraft 2, I'm mostly playing Dragon Quest 11, which is the epic novel of JRPGs. I'm enjoying it, but it's moving very, very slowly. So I suppose I'm just biding my time until MLB The Show, Animal Crossing, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake come around.

Been playing quite a bit of Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection for the Switch (look for our review next week!), and all that platforming brings me back to a happy place. When I'm not shooting up Neo Arcadia, I'm grinding away at Final Fantasy 14. I finished A Realm Reborn, and now I'm on the doorstep of Heavensward. I can't wait to meet some dragons. I'm sure we're going to be the best of friends.

I got back into Apex Legends on a fluke. It updated before the massive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update I was actually waiting for, so I jumped back in, and found myself sucked in again. Now I play a few matches every evening, like clockwork. I think Season 4 is pretty great, though I had my reservations about the changes it made to weapons (R.I.P. to my beloved Turbocharger hop-up). I've found the reclassification of snipers, which now have their own ammo, to actually be a smart decision. I weirdly feel like I'm much better at Apex now than I was back when I played it religiously for months early in 2019. I don't know why this is!

Before I got sucked back into Apex Legends, I was playing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. I found it tremendously boring, not to mention clunky. I'm astounded, honestly, that it's still so buggy post-launch. I don't think I'll ever finish it, thanks to getting back into Apex.
