Watch Dogs 2 will be free for people who watch Ubisoft Forward

Fans who tune in to the Ubisoft Forward livestream this weekend will receive a copy of Watch Dogs 2 free of charge.

The main conceit is that this will only be available for PC players with access to UPlay. In order to claim your copy, you'll need to tune in to the Ubisoft Forward livestream at a certain time, at which point you'll be instructed on how to redeem Watch Dogs 2 for free.

The news comes from the official Ubisoft Forward line-up reveal, which you can check out in the video below.

A corresponding post was also published on the official Ubisoft blog, and features specific instructions on how to claim your free copy of Watch Dogs 2.

"Don't forget to log in with your Uplay account anytime after Trackmania and before the end of the main show to claim a free copy of Watch Dogs 2 on PC, and to get a chance to answer trivia questions and win some rewards for a variety of Ubisoft titles," the post reads.

The Ubisoft Forward stream goes live at 10:30am PST on July 12, 2020. The pre-show starts 30 minutes later at 11, and the main show kicks off at 12 noon. There will also be a post-show segment featuring a deep dive into Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay, as well as a Hyper Scape match showcase designed to offer players an insight into Ubisoft's new battle royale FPS.

Watch Dogs 2

If you're curious to know more, here's everything you need to know about Ubisoft Forward. Given that the official blog posts says that viewers can expect a few "surprises," it's reasonable to assume that one of its yet-to-be-announced AAA titles for the 2020 fiscal year could make an appearance.

Maybe we'll even get a look at Far Cry 6, which apparently features Giancarlo Esposito, who you might recognize as Gus Fring from Breaking Bad.

If you've already played Watch Dogs 2 and are more excited to hear about Legion, you're in luck - the main show will feature a new look at both Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion.
