State of Decay 2 is shaping up to be an expanded sequel, and today we get our first look at it.
Microsoft and PLaydead recently announced the release date for State of Decay 2, and got everyone excited to see the game running in action for the first time.
State of Decay 2 is part of IGN's coverage this month, and videos have started rolling. The first one is a 25-minute walkthrough of the open world that features some exploration, and lots of action. The footage is captured from a PC at 4K, and though the game still looks janky, it's better than the original.
We don't get to see any of State of Decay 2's management aspects, however, in this one, which do return in the sequel. This is mostly just killing zombies with long and short range weapons, and a few melee takedowns.
The video also shows off the updated looting mechanics, and a brief bit of vehicle combat. You'll be happy to know that you can open car doors to slam zombies as the car is being driven. Catch the full video below:
State of Decay 2 is out May 22 on PC and Xbox One.
