Warner to produce Hawken web-based series

Warner Premiere, the company behind live-action Mortal Kombat: Legacy, has announced it's secured the rights to develop a web series based on the futuristic mech shooter Hawken. Initial plans for the web series will take fans to the start of the series where humans on an industrialized planet are battling for dwindling resources. Copper Media, a new division of Silver Pictures Entertainment, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and DJ2 Entertainment are attached to produce. Further details about the production will be announced in the coming months. The free-to-play Hawken beta launches on December 12, through Gaikai. Sign up here.
