Vodafone Australia offers prepaid, contract Vita 3G pre-orders

Vodafone Australia has opened pre-orders for the 3G-enabled Vita, offering 12 month contracts and pre-paid plans.

The telco is offering five contract options, ranging in price from $55 per month with 1.5 GB of data for a minimum total spend of $660, up to $95 per month with 18 GB of data for a minimum spend of $1,140, with no up front costs.

The prepaid option is just a starter kit, and grants 200 MB of data with a 30 day expiry, for $419 - the 3G model's RRP.

Both offers come with a 4 GB memory card when you pre-order online.

The company makes no mention of stand-alone, contract-free data offerings, although it does provide iPad microsims, suggesting the option may become available at a later date.

Although Vodafone is Sony's preferred partner in Australia, any company's compatible sim card can be used with the device.
