Video Game History Museum Kickstarter runs $20,000 surplus

The nerds have spoken and the message is clear: they love the idea of a video game history museum.

The creators of the Video Game History Museum started their Kickstarter fund with a modest goal of $30,000. Now we've learned that they have easily surpassed that goal. When funding closed yesterday the final count had reached just over $50,000.

One backer of the project even pledged "over $10,000" according to the web page, and another twenty five people pledged over $1,000.

The masterminds of the project say that this money is just the beginning of their plans for the museum, and that the money will be used to spread the word and raise even more funds.

To get a full run-down on the project, and the history of archiving classic video game materials, head on over to the VGHM's Kickstarter page and watch their video.
