Yesterday I talked about why I consider Mega Man 2 one of my so-called "comfort food" games. Today, I thought I'd show you.

Few games hold up through the ages quite like Mega Man 2. With its spot-on controls and open-ended structure, it's simply a joy to play each and every time. And its visuals, while simple, exhibit tremendous style and artistry, which is one reason the game continues to inspire other creations even now. Shovel Knight, which launches today, for example. And that's why I'll never get tired of Mega Man 2 — it's game I love for both objective and subjective reasons. Endlessly varied, bursting with detail, brilliantly designed, it's a true gem of a platformer. In fact, if you're like me, simply watching this video filled you with the desire to play Mega Man 2 again....
