USgamer's RPG Podcast Explores Dragon Quest Builders, Yo-Kai Watch 2, and More

AXE OF THE BLOOD GOD: It's a packed episode as we delve into Dragon Quest Builders, Yo-Kai Watch 2, Steamworld Heist, and Darkest Dungeon.

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

Axe of the Blood God is our weekly RPG podcast hosted by Kat Bailey. You can find the previous episodes here.

In this week's episode of Axe of the Blood God (download link here), Nadia and I wander from Dragon Quest Builders to Steamworld Heist, and Bob shares his thoughts on Yo-Kai Watch 2 and the future of VR RPGs (if they have a future).

Dragon Quest Builders launches next week, and it's hard to get a handle on how exactly it will do. Will it resonate with Minecraft fans who expect a more open experience? Will it hit with fans of the series? By all accounts it's pretty good, so we'll have to see. On the other hand, if Bob's review is anything to go by, Yo-Kai Watch 2 is not good, which is kind of a shame. You can hear his detailed thoughts on the pod.

Also in this episode: Steamworld Heist is still great, and Nadia reminded me that I haven't even played the DLC, so I know what I'm doing when I fly back from LA tonight. I also rant about XCOM 2 and Darkest Dungeon a bit, and Nadia talks about some of the changes introduced by Stardew Valley.

Next week: More Dragon Quest Builders!

Kat and Nadia make their first foray into Dragon Quest Builders, examine Darkest Dungeon's foray onto console, and heap (deserved) praise on Steamworld Heist. Then Bob drops by to share his thoughts on Yo-Kai Watch and the possibility of VR RPGs.
