USgamer's RPG Podcast Dives Into an In-depth Preview of Persona 5

AXE OF THE BLOOD GOD: Elliot Gay returns to share his thoughts on the first 40 hours of the import version of Persona 5. No spoilers! Promise!

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

Axe of the Blood God is our weekly RPG podcast hosted by Kat Bailey. You can find the previous episodes here.

In this week's episode of Axe of the Blood God (download link here), import JRPG speaker Elliot Gay returns to share his thoughts on the first 40 hours of Persona 5, as well as Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and Super Robot Wars OG: The Moon Dwellers.

Persona 5 has been out for about a week now in Japan and it's already doing very well. Elliot has been playing it non-stop, and he has lots of thoughts on its tone, battle system, setting, and how it mixes in some of the best of the mainline Shin Megami Tensei series. He also relates how lucky we are to even have Persona 5. Needless to say, my hype level for this game is through the roof after our conversation. Have a listen!

Also in this episode: Elliot and I get geeky about mecha, as usual, and also talk about Persona's relationship with SMT. Apologies for the audio quality in this one. We're slowly getting better! Promise!

Next week: You'll just have to see!

Elliot Gay returns to share his thoughts on the first 40 (!) hours of Persona 5, then sticks around to offer his opinion on Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and Super Robot Wars OG: The Moon Dwellers. It's a Japanese import extravaganza!
