2017 was a good year for video game platforms. The Nintendo Switch came out and brought Nintendo back triumphantly into the hardware race, Microsoft launched the most powerful home console with the Xbox One X, and PlayStation 4 continued to dominate sales while bolstering existing products like the PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation VR.
