US News Wrap, September 6 - What Happened Today

Hello, lovelies. It's time once again to provide you with a wrap up of my shift for the day, and today, my intro is Call of Duty XP-centirc.

In case you have taken to the ground of late, I was away all Labor Day weekend in L.A. for the Call of Duty XP Event. I survived, a bit hungover and sunburnt, but I made it through at least partially unscathed. Whether I can say the same for the event itself, is inconsequential, because anyone who knows me well enough can vouch for the fact I leave a path of destruction, sorrow, and utter despondency in my wake whenever I quit a place.

Being serious for a moment, and catch it while it lasts, Activision put on one helluva show, and attendees seemed to really enjoy themselves. I also have a new found respect for Kanye West after his performance, but sadly, not for his soundman. I realize we were in an airplane hangar, but something better could have been accomplished on that end - but that is not Acti's fault.

I also got a glimpse of the infamous Bobby Kotick at the after party, and I can attest to the fact that the Imperial Death March does NOT play when he enters a room. Pimpin' A'int Easy maybe, considering how he "rolls", but definitely not something nefarious.

Other than those fun tidbits, I met some super great folks who work in this industry, was able to hang out with ones I have met on previous trips. They really made the weekend even better.

So, with the update on my life compete for you, let's get you caught up on some "newz". If you have any other questions about the XP Event, just ask me.

Header images this month will consist of bands or artists I like, and because my musical tastes are so eclectic, you never know what you're going to be looking at from day-to-day.

See you tomorrow.
