Unreal Engine 4 "years away", says Rein

Epic chief Mark Rein has told Eurogamer that the fourth Unreal Engine won't be happening anytime soon, and is planned to accompany the next hardware cycle.

"It's just a research project today," he said. "Our plan is that it will be aimed at the next generation so it is many years away."

Rein's been chatty in the last day or so, talking to us exclusively about Gears of War 2 and the EA Unreal Engine licensing deal that was announced yesterday.
