Unpublished Wii and DS Burnout outed by staffer

The prolific Burnout series has been just about everywhere, but it's not going to Nintendo-land. A planned exclusive, apparently titled Burnout Freestyle, has seen the light of day only in the wake of its cancellation.

Before its ignoble euthanasia, Burnout Freestyle was in development at Criterion for both Wii and DS. The mysterious title was revealed in autopsy on the website of Paul Dibden, an outsource manager at EA, as a gallery of DS images.

Following the release of 2008's Burnout Paradise, Criterion went to work on Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Burnout last visited Nintendo consoles with 2002's Burnout 2: Point of Impact for GameCube, and Burnout Legends for DS. Neither release was a platform exclusive.

Thanks, cubed3.
