Ultra Street Fighter 4: ultra combo & focus systems get new modes, Capcom explains how they work

Ultra Street Fighter 4 has a new flavour of Ultra Combo. Say hello to the Ultra Combo Double. Capcom's Tomoaki Ayano has explained how it works in a new blog.

Over on Capcom Unity, Ayano explained that in addition to choosing between Ultra I and Ultra II before matches, players will now be able to opt for a third choice called Ultra Combo Double. This means that once your gauge is full you can choose to pull off either Ultra, but suffer reduced damage output as a result. The video above shows how they work in practice.

The new Ultra Combo Double gauge looks like this:

Next up are new red focus attacks:

The red focus attacks use the super meter, and are capable of parrying multiple attacks, instead of just one. It can also be cancelled with a dash then followed up with attacks, just like the regular flavour.

What do you think of the new moves?
