Ubisoft tries its hand at social gaming in Japan

castle land

Ubisoft has created its first Japanese-language game for the popular social media site Mixi. It was released on the service in December.

Titled Castle Land, the game was originally a Facebook game called Castle & Co., which is a kingdom-sim game where you manage your kingdom, while building and decorating it.

You can even visit kingdoms your friends created.

Mixi has a userbase of 20 million, and is the one of the leading social networks in Japan.

Castle Land is just the latest step the firm has taken with creating or distributing games that appeal to the Japanese market.

Thanks, Siliconera.
