Ubisoft announces free Driver: San Francisco multiplayer content and Driver Club

To support the release of Driver: San Francisco, Ubisoft has announced a new free multiplayer content and a game-to-web service for PS3 and Xbox 360.

The free multiplayer content, which is set to go live on September 15, will include 12 new routes for all online modes, and for the following 10 weeks, an additional 10 free routes will also be made available - one each week.

Starting now, Driver: San Francisco also offers an exclusive Games-to-Web community service called Driver Club, which allows players to partake in the following:

  • Unlock exclusive achievements.
  • Find your stats and check the leaderboards.
  • Showcase your film director clips.
  • See and rate your friends’ clips.
  • Review the Community facts.
  • Follow your friends’ activities using the Driver Social feed.

This website is accessible with a Uplay account here: www.driver-club.ubi.com.

Earlier today, reports stated that a Uplay Passport was not included with the game in North American Xbox 360 versions. According to Joystiq, the multiplayer pass is "now free when attempting to purchase through the game. It is not currently available through the dashboard nor Xbox.com."

Ubisoft has yet to officially comment on the matter or how long the Uplay Passport will be free through the game.
