Twisted Pixel is once again an independent studio

Splosion Man developer Twisted Pixel has announced it is once again an independent studio.

The studio was purchased by Microsoft in 2011, but company co-founder Josh Bear told IGN the team always keep a "background dialog open" regarding going independent again someday.

Apparently, the transition has been in the works "for a few months" with both parties working together to help the studio to become independent again.

The developer's relationship with Microsoft remains on good terms and the partnership will continue "on future titles."
