Too many 3DS models would "perplex" users: Iwata

Hot on the heels of the 3DS XL and 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro announcements, Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has said more models may confuse people. Translated: this is it for a while.

As reported by Kotaku, Iwata said in an investor meeting today that more models could "perplex" buyers, adding that the 3DS XL was created to fulfill "the need" for a larger screen.

There are no plans for more versions "in the near future," he said.

"The need" for an extra stick will be handled by the new Circle Pad Pro for the XL.

The larger Circle Pad Pro will release later this year in Japan. 3DS XL itself will release in Europe and Japan on July 28.
