Tomodachi Collection survey suggests Nintendo title may be coming west

Tomodachi Collection is a Japanese 3DS game which is sort of like Animal Crossing but your villagers are your friends and family's Miis, which makes it pretty hilarious when they shack up together. Let's hope this hint that it's coming west bears fruit.

A number of sources including have received surveys from Nintendo of Europe gauging interest in Tomodachi Collection, after Nintendo mentioned it briefly to the Wall Street Journal last month, according to Tiny Cartridge.

The survey contains multiple screenshots of what appears to be a localised version of the game, with English, French and Spanish versions spotted.

While this hasn't been confirmed, the survey could mean the localised version is close to complete, and Nintendo is figuring out how to position it in upcoming marketing.

Known in Japan as Tomodachi Collection: New Life, the 3DS exclusive is actually the second in a series, following the DS original Tomodachi Collection. "Tomodachi" is the Japanese word for friend or friends.

"Tomodachi Collection" is unlike any video game you have ever played, where you decide who should be part o your game. Will it be your best friends? Your parents? Your crush? Or maybe your favourite actor? You get to choose who lives in this vibrant community!

Create a Mii character or each person you want in the game. Pick a voice and personality, and watch your Mii character come to life. Sometimes they will act astonishingly close to real life, yet other times they will behave in completely unexpected ways. Regardless, you’ll find it hard not to laugh!

Take care of your Mii characters and understand their needs. You will receive many different rewards that you can spend on customising your community even further. And, as the game progresses, unique relationships will form — your Mii characters could fight over the most trivial things, become best pals, or even fall in love!
