Tomb Raider: Definitive PS4 & Xbox One assets identical, Square insists

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition's assets, textures, character models and other features are identical across the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, Square Enix insists. It follows video comparisons that suggest there are some discrepancies between both formats.

We also reported that both the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition were developed by two different teams, and not by Crystal Dynamics itself.

Now, following Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition video comparisons from sites like IGN and Gamersyde, Square has passed a statement on to Videogamer to stress that both versions feature the same assets.

"Both Xbox One and PS4 gameplay run at native 1080p," a company rep wrote. "The assets from one platform to the other are the same as all source assets were shared 1:1 (textures, models, particles, etc.)."
