TGS 2013 breaks attendance records

This year's Tokyo Game Show attracted even more visitors than last year, breaking the event's records with 270,197 attendees.

The figure comes direct from TGS organiser the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, as harvested by Gematsu.

This year's total attendance was an increase of more than 46,000 on 2012's 223,753.

The event ran for four days, between September 19 and 22 inclusive, and was open to the general public on the final two days, with the first two reserved for trade and press.

As you can see from the daily breakdown below, Sunday was the most popular day and attracted more visitors than 2012's busiest of 94,980 people.

  • September 19 (Business Day) – 29,171 people
  • September 20 (Business Day) – 23,183 people
  • September 21 – 102,399 people
  • September 22 – 115,444 people
  • Total – 270,197 people

Next year’s Tokyo Game Show is scheduled for September 18 to 21.
