Titanfall to launch without local dedicated servers in Australia

Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the shooter will launch without dedicated servers on Australian soil.

It follows confirmation that Titanfall DLC will come Q3 2014.

A thread over on the Titanfall forum was brought to our attention by one reader, and it contains an email conversation between a gamer and Respawn community boss Abbie Heppe.

When asked if the Australian Titanfall release would receive dedicated servers, Heppe replied, "It's really a question for Microsoft. There are servers that gamers in Australia will be able to connect to and we're testing builds there to make sure they won't have an unacceptable connection (it has been playable in our tests). I hope that helps a bit!"

Next, the gamer asked to clarify whether or not this meant there would be Titanfall servers located on Australian soil - a valid concern for an online-only title - to which Heppe replied, "They aren't Australian and I don't know the exact location (sorry, not the server expert )...but we continue to advocate for Australian servers while making sure Australian gamers will have the best experience we can offer them."
