Continued support for Titanfall depends on you

Eventually Respawn will have to move onto other projects - including the very probable Titanfall 2 - but for now it just wants to keep updating and working on the hit shooter.

Titanfall has been successful enough that Respawn plans to keep working on it until players lose interest, Vince Zampella told Eurogamer.

"Indefinitely doesn't work. It depends somewhat on how well the game does. If there are people there supporting it you can justify putting people and resources on it," he said.

"If there's not that many people, or the engagement goes down, there's a point where those resources are better spent on whatever our next game would be and making that game better. I hope it lasts a really long time and we can do more stuff."

That said, there might a little slow down following this week's major Titanfall update, Expedition.

"We're going to try to balance after this one. There was a lot of stuff we felt we really needed to get there as soon as possible. After this goes we'll try to slow down. There are some people who are reaching the burnout point," Zampella said of future updates.

Respawn has the time and luxury to continue work on Titanfall thanks to the game's success; EA executive Andrew Wilson said it beat EA's "high" expectations, and seems pretty chuffed to have Respawn onboard.

"We have announced that we have extended our relationship with Respawn. I'm very happy about that," Wilson said.

"Vince and the team there are amazing. We look forward to doing stuff with them for a long time to come. But right now we're focused on the current Titanfall property."

That sounds like sequels, but while EA has indicated that Titanfall sequels will happen eventually, Nobody's willing to say Titanfall 2 is definitely a thing.

"The Titanfall universe is rich for exploration. I definitely wouldn't discount it," Zampella said.

Thanks, Gamespot.
